We cultivate the human spirit...

Find a calling,
change the world

We believe in the infinite potential that lies within all human beings.

A humanist is committed to human development, values, welfare, and integrity.

Our mission is to inspire each child who enters our doors to find a calling that will change the world.

We will cultivate the human spirit by providing self-paced, experiential learning for all students in a student-centered and value-based environment, guided by strong personal relationships with students and families.
We believe each child has a gift that can change the world in a profound way.

We believe in a closely connected family of lifelong learners.

We believe in learning by knowing, learning by doing and learning by being.

We believe in economic, religious, and political freedom.

True education should nurture a commitment to human values including: integrity, inquiry, empathy, gratitude, diligence, sincerity, honesty, humility and respect

Our Learner Driven Communities are run mostly by our Warriors, where closely connected families of lifelong learners are bound by clear covenants; and “Learning to Do” and “Learning to Be” are just as important as “Learning to Know.”

Learning to Do
Hands-on Quests for Science, Entrepreneurship and the Arts prepare children for Apprenticeships and real world challenges.

Learning to Be
The Hero’s Journey, relational covenants and real world consequences transform difficult decisions into virtuous habits.

Learning to Know
Socratic Discussions and self paced challenges equip children to be independent lifelong learners.
We are proudly affiliated with Acton Academy Austin. Acton Academy was founded in 2009 by Jeff and Laura Sandefer in Austin Texas. This parent run accredited private school model is exploding across the USA, Canada, and Central America. Jay and Vijay Shah, founders of The Humanist Academy, chose to open this Acton affiliate in the Dallas area to provide a value-based learning environment as an option to the traditional system. At The Humanist Academy, the hope is that universal human values are not only cultivated at home by a community of close knit families, but they are also supported and nurtured at school. School should not just be about grades and exams, but about finding one's calling and making a real difference in the world.
